Soul Hunter

A tale about the ancient Yin Dynasty of China. A tale about heavenly beings sent to "help out" the human world. A tale about the destiny of man, whether it be predetermined or of his own choice. Yep, this anime has a lot of tales to tell.
Soul Hunter is an epic telling of how the Yin Dynasty falls from glory, with the help of a few demon immortals intervening in the life of man. This anime has a huge cast of characters that all have their story to tell. From our heroic Taikoubou to our dark hero, BunChu, Soul Hunter's biggest wow factor is that it's vast amount of characters all grow through the course of the series.
The plot starts off simple. Taikoubou is to "Hoshein" the demon immortals that are stirring up trouble in the human world. Yet even simple matters become complicated when Taikoubou begins to question his mission.
Soul Hunter is mostly a dialogue driven story. If you were to compare it to a game, it would be best described as an RPG. It has a lot of comedy and action that balances out the dialogue. The first few episodes sets up a lot of the plot. Yet the anime shines in the later episodes, when Taikoubou forms his party of heroic friends set out to save the human world from the demon immortals. The character interaction amongst Taikoubou's group is what keeps you watching. However, everything else drains you with drama and a few side stories that seems to be taken from a few afternoon soap opera shows on the television.

I rate this as A MUST OWN.
Genre: Adventure
Pros: Vast amount of dynamic characters and character interaction at its best
Cons: A few static characters that could get a job as a lead character on weekday soap operas
