Kudou YohjiKudou Yohji is the playboy of the group. He's always flirting and hitting on women, staying away from girls under eighteen. After all, someone who's life is made doing legal things like killing people can't break statutory laws! His flirting is more of a mask to hide the pain of Asuka's death. Yohji was a Private Investigator before Weiss, and his partner was a woman named Asuka whom he cared a lot for. In fact, he seemed to love her, although there never appeared to be any sort of romantic relationship between them. On a case, he was injured and he told her to go on without him. She gave him a kiss on the cheek and ran for it, only to get shot. Later, she appears as the brainwashed doll of Taketori Masafumi, Neu. Though he tries to 'save' her, she turns out to be so completely gone that he ends up having to kill her. In the second season, Gluhen, Yohji is getting over her. He has a lot of issues in that season, such as strangling the women he sleeps with in brief fits of insanity. Not to death, but you know, it's still throttling the chick your doing, Yo-tan. Yohji smokes like a chimney, and drinks like a fish. He is into clubbing and partying, and, of course, one-night stands.

The Playboy
Yohji is tall, lanky and sort of honey-blonde in the anime, (brown in the manga), and he wears his hair about shoulder-length. In Gluhen, he cuts it short though, and dyes it a brighter blonde. He has a pair of shades that he always wears, and both his ears are pierced. In the anime, he wears small hoops; in the manga, he wears studs. His eyes are green in the manga, although they appear more brown in the anime, and he has a tattoo on his left bicep that says 'SIN when will you ever learn' over some wings. Here, we see him just waking up. Good shot of the tattoo (can't help it, I like tattooed guys!) as well as a good shot of his, well, lazy attitude. Yohji is the most fashion-conscious of the group, wearing tight clothes that show off his body, except when he works in the shop. Then he wears this loose button-down.... He is fond of leather pants, cropped tops, and cowboy hats. So fond, in fact, that in Gluhen, he wears a cowboy hat as part of his assassin gear (The cowboy assassins! Yeee-haa!). I have to say, I think it really works for him. He's the only one who could get away with it. |
The Wire-Weilder
Yohji's weapon of choice is a thin monofilament wire, which he keeps hidden on a spool within his watch. Very clever! It's almost invisible to the naked eye, and he uses it to tie people up, strangle them, hang them, grab weapons, knock weapons away from people, etc. It's a pretty diverse and handy weapon, when you think about it. Yohji is usually good and stealthy on missions, and great as an undercover agent. Seeing as he's such a player, he has no moral qualms about prancing off and being a 'client' for a prostitution ring. Where the other boys are shy (or, in Ran's case, veritable ice cubes), Yohji is able to talk to women easily, and pass off as another horny man-- oh, wait, he doesn't HAVE to pretend to do that.... Here, we see his trenchcoat, with an excellent shot of that white cross on the arm. From the manga. |
The Wire-Weilder
We know he drinks, smokes, and parties. We just didn't know he owned a puffy plasticy pink couch. To go with the neutral tones of the room.... Here, I think Yohji is trying to get drunk and sort of forget about the crap he's dealt with. Hence the very large bottle of whiskey on the table in front of him... |
