This costume was a very interesting trial. Although most of the costume's pieces were bought, there were still plenty of things that had to be hand-made. The forearm guards were made out of sentra and were formed to the shape of my arm with a heat gun.
The vest was a major fiasco, since there wasn't a pattern used in its construction. I ended up with the straps far beyond where my shoulders were, and the bottom was too narrow for my very not-narrow hips. I had to sew the front together in a bizzare pleat so that the straps would at least hang on my shoulders, and I had to split the bottom up the sides so that it would fit. I definately plan on re-making the vest, not only so that it will definately fit and look good, but also make it out of better matierial. The matierial for this vest was far too thin and didn't give the desired appearance at all.
Everything else, from the pants, shirt, gloves, weapons, and mask were all purchased.
The mask really saved this costume. I bought it at ANBU Masks, and actually got a few photos (including one on A Fan's View )because of it.
As you can see, Jai's costume turned out significantly better because the vest fit him the first time. That also might be why mine was slightly off, since they were made exactly the same. He made such an awesome ANBU Zabuza. ^_^ His contact lenses really added to the look of the costume.
