Elrond

Elrond is the lord of Rivendell and one of the oldest elves still living in Middle Earth. He is very wise and knowledgeble. He is responsible for the formation of the Fellowship of the Ring, which consisted of Frodo (the Ringbearer), Gandalf the Grey, Samwise Gamgee, Merry Brandybuck, Pippin Took, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, and Boromir. Elrond also faught alongside Isildur during the Great War that took place over 3000 years prior to The Lord of the Rings. Elrond is also father to Arwen Evenstar, and is the bearer of the ring Vilya (the Ring of Air).
