Debuted: Middle Tenneesse Anime Con '06
This was a costume that terrified me. I wanted it badly, but I knew my limitations at sewing; I knew that I, personally, could not make it. To be absolutely specific, I wanted a Kadaj costume. But I'll explain why it's Yazoo in a moment.
So, I got on ebay, and checked out the cosplay store HonestDragonChina. There, they were offering very nice FULL costumes at very affordable prices. MTAC '06 was coming up, and I wanted to have at least two costumes for it. So I shelled out $145 for a custom made-to-my-mesurements Kadaj costume. The price included the coat, a pair of matching pleather pants, and a pair of gloves. The costume was also listed as a Yazoo costume, since the two are basically the same, only Kadaj gathers his coat around his legs.
I had originally planned on going as Kadaj. All I needed was a wig. Well, at the time, a wig that could be used for Kadaj was VERY difficult to find. I had even considered at one point to cut my hair and dye it silver. But, of course, that never happened. Con time was suddenly upon me, and I had no wig. So I decided to use the long white wig I had gotten for my original Naruto character Kaguya, and use it for a makeshift Yazoo wig. Yeah, it wasn't close enough for my picky comfort, but I had no other choice. Yazoo it was.
At the con, I was expecting to get called out on the costume. But to my surprise, the costume was well-recieved. I got a ton of pictures taken (although none have been posted online), and I even got "attacked" by a Cloud cosplayer (seen below) in the elevator. This will definately be a reocurring costume. ^_^
