Megaman's fourth GameBoy run pushes the envelope once more. Actual cimima scenes, as well as items galore make this an excellent title, but it's not without its drawbacks. Read on.
Wily is at it again. Reconstructing robot masters from Megaman 4 & 5, he's sent them out on another destructive spree. Megaman must battle them yet again, but this time, Dr. Light has constructed a new machine that can be of great help to Megaman.
The graphics and sound are as good as the last game, and the challenge level is a bit more managable. On his quest, Megaman will discover items called 'P-chips' that he can trade in to Dr. Light for items. This game is also the largest yet of the GameBoy series, with a ton of stages you must navigate before you're through.
I just have a couple of problems with the game. First, Megaman's charged buster now recoils. When it's fired, Megaman is bounced back a short distance. It's not that much, but you must be careful not to use it while jumping a long gap. Second, the passwords are a lot more complex now. In fact, they're worse than in MM7 and X1-3. Of course, this allows you to save the number of P-chips you have. But still, it's a bit of a neusance to copy them down and reenter them.
