Season 2
Terror of the Seven Seas
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Wily is stealing ships from the ocean to build an invincible sea fortress. Another personal favorite episode of mine. It had enough action throughout the episode, as well as a lot of humor and cute site-gags. Especially interesting was the plot device of Megaman having to copy Protoman's weapon to power up his plasma cannon enough to destroy the fortress core. The episode certainly gets an A :D
Mega Dreams
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Wily invents a device that allows him to transmit his robots into other people's dreams, allowing him to control them in their sleep. He uses his dream machine to attain his primary goal, to launch his dream machine into orbit so he can control anyone on Earth at any time he wants. Another decent episode. Megaman seems to run into Wily's robots around nearly corner in this episode. So again, there's plenty of action. What I found especially funny was Megaman's "super-blast", and how it grabbed Gutsman before nailing the others.
Robo Spider
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Light invents a super-computer that controls his high-tech defense systems for all of the world's military bases. In response, Wily builds a gigantic mechanical spider which he plans to use to steal all of the electricity in the city, then use it to fry Light's super-computer. Strange, despite the drawing style for this episode being somewhat sub-par, it was actually a very good episode, also managing to fit in a few good sight-gags.
Showdown at Red Gulch
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
A meteor crashes to Earth outside an old-western-themed town, and Wily discovers a type of super mineral inside it that, when attached to his robots, makes them uber-powerful! When even Megaman can't stop Wily's bots anymore, he'll have to find some way of evening the odds. Another good episode that didn't drag. The only thing I ask every time I see this episode however, is how in the hell does Megaman just float in the air during that fight in the mine shaft? Ah well. Ignoring that, it's still an episode worth seeing. I also found Megaman's remark "I feel like I'm in a video game" somewhat amusing.
Night of the Living Monster Bots
RM Appearances:
None (although I was hoping Shademan and/or Skullman would show up)
Synopsis:
Dr. Wily goes into showbiz. He builds a set of horror movie-style monsters and makes films of them terrorizing towns. He plans on using these films to blackmail the other cities of the world. Yeah, the plot sounds a tad corny, but this episode still isn't too bad. Only thing I'd like to know is how Wily was able to actually turn Dr. Light and Evelyn into a werewolf and vampire. Ah, the wonders of future technology...
Bro Bots
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Protoman convinces Megaman and the others that he's joined their side. It seems too good to be true, and it is. It's really a rouse for Protoman to plant a scramble chip on Megaman, that causes his circits to flip out at all the wrong times, and to gain the trust of Mitchel Deacon, the top canidate for governor. Wily then plans on replacing all of the head politicians with robot copies. A very good episode overall. We got to see a lot more of Protoman's good side. While he may have been faking a lot of it, some of it may have actually been sincere.
Master of Disaster
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Wily summons an ancient demon named Lotos to help with his dirty work. Megaman can take on Wily's robots, but can he contend with the demon's black magic? An okay episode, just a tad different seeing the technology-based Megaman world combining with a more magic-based occult world.
Curse of the Lion Men
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Wily's robots inavertently stumble upon Taar, a half-lion, half-man creature, and his servents, also lion creatures. Having been released, Taar sets about conquering the world for himself by turning humans into lion creatures like himself, which also puts them under his control. When Taar gains control of both Dr. Light and Dr. Wily, Megaman's got to save them both. This seems to be the episode everyone loves to hate. While it had its moments, it was pretty crappy for the most part. The plot was probably the most corn-ball one ever, but that wouldn't have been so bad had the drawing not been so terrible (very rushed in some parts, with characters either being severly deformed, or missing color in some areas). The whole thing feels like it was just thought up and slapped together at the last minute.
Campus Commandos
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Light founds a university for robots, where he plans to teach students how to build his new anti-gravity machine. Dr. Wily, however, decides to reprogram the students to build the gravity machine for himself instead. Another somewhat corny episode, but nowhere near as bad as "Curse of the Lion Men". I'm sure the first thing on everyone's mind is: Why the hell do robots need to go to school? I mean, can't Dr. Light just program them with whatever infrmation they need? Maybe AI has just come a long ways by then. By the way, did anyone else notice that about 95% of the student body were jocks? What are they trying to tell us? Does Dr. Light give a hefty football scholarship? But none of them were even the ones working on the gravity device. Plus, all of the female students (sans Roll) were cheerleaders. Must be hard taking tests when you have pom-poms for hands. Well, I could sit here all day and make fun of Light University. I'd better move on...
Brian Bot
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Light has created a new robot with an ultra-intelligent AI. Megaman and Roll must escort the robot to a research center in California and keep Wily's mitts off of him. Because of course, Wily wants the robot for himself, and his robots are a constant thorn in Megaman's side on the whole trip. This episode is also among my favorites, for much the same reason as "Terror of the Seven Seas"; the excellent mix of action and humor.
Bad Day at Peril Park
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Wily is using a local amusement park as a front for his lastest scheme; turning humans into robot slaves. Not really; all he does is brainwash them into thinking they're robots. Everyone else though, until the very end, actually think Wily is transforming people into robots. A somewhat weird episode, especially since it takes place in an amusement park. But while the drawing seemed a bit hurried here and there, it wasn't as painful to watch as one may think (except when listening to Bobby's voice).
The Day the Moon Fell
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Wily builds a gravitron that he uses to pull the moon closer to Earth. The moon's gravity thus triggers all sorts of natural disasters all over the world. Another favorite episode of mine (maybe Shadowman's only appearence has something to do with that). Though I have to wonder about one part of the episode; Dr. Wily was apparently filmed a while ago stealing the data for Dr. Light's tachyon capaciter. How come no one has seen that tape until now? Of course, if he saw it earlier, Light would know what a rat Wily is ahead of time, they probably wouldn't have been partners, and the whole storyline gets screwed up even more...Oh well, moving on...
Mega X
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Dr. Wily is scrambling to get Dr. Light's new lightanium rods to fuel his ultra-powerful super blaster, but someone else wants it too. Vile and Spark Mandrill come from the future to aquire the rods as well. X also comes back to stop them. This is pretty much your typical crossover story, and it's a pretty good one for the most part (although X looks kind of like the Megaman on the US and European box art for MM1 & MM2; Vile and Spark Mandrill were perfect, however, and I loved the added touch of one of Vile's eyes glowing under his visor occasionaly). But why couldn't they spell "Sigma"? Anyways, despite them making X seem a bit more destructive than he appears to behave in the games, it was another decent episode. The drawing and animation was some of the best in the series.
Crime of the Century
RM Appearances:
Synopsis:
Wily has invented a device that allows him to control toys. He uses them on a massive crime spree throughout the city, but it's actually just a cover-up; his real objective is the theft of a one-of-a-kind black pearl. The idea of controlling toys seems a bit cheesy, but the episode still isn't too bad, and I always got a kick out of seeing that little doll rip Gutsy's head off. The drawing and animation were top notch here. It's a shame this was the last episode :( (Actually, I believe this was supposed to be the first episode of Season 3, but I guess they scrapped the series after this episode.)
