Chapter 17*~Daddy To The Rescue

“Daddy look what I can do!!!” Dawn yelled as she stuck her tongue through the big gap in the from of her mouth where her teeth had fallin out,

“Pretty cool baby girl.” I smiled softly and rested my chin in the palm of my hand, looking at her. “You are getting so old.”

“I’m not that old daddy...” She giggled and looked down at her feet with a smile. “I’m only this many,” she said as she held up four fingers and smiled softly.

“I know, but that’s old for me. I’m really old now that you all are getting so old!” I said as I picked her up, holding her in my arms as I walked into the kitchen opening the refrigerator. “Hmm...I forgot your mother hasn’t gone grocery shopping yet.” I looked at Dawn-Marie and smiled softly. “Wanna go out and get something to eat?”

            “Yes!!!”

“Alright then, lets go get your jacket and go alright?” I watched as she nodded and kissed her forehead softly. It was just me and Dawn for today. Li had Drew, Dana, Alexandra and Layla with her. Thank god. I opened the car door and let Dawn in, buckling her car seat. I opened the door to the drivers seat and sat down, looking in the rear view mirror as I started the car and pulled on my seatbelt. “Is there anything you want to eat in particular?”

            “Umm...I don’t know...Mc Donald’s!!”

“Are you sure?” I watched as she nodded and shrugged. “Alright if that’s what ya want baby girl then we’ll eat that.” I turned on the radio. Hoping that she was drift asleep like always, but this time for some reason she was wide awake.

            “Daddy....”

            “Yes...”

            “Is mommy sick?”

“Sick?” I rose an eyebrow and looked in my rearview mirror so I could see Dawn’s face. “Why are you asking that?”

“She’s been throwing up all the time. I think she’s sick and she doesn’t want to tell us.”

“I’m sure she’s fine...she probably just ate something bad.” I answered with a slight shrug before it caught my attention. “She’s been throwing up?”

Dawn nodded and fiddled with the doll she held in her hands. “Yesterday auntie Adriana had to drive us home because mommy was feelin naushus.”

“Nauseous?” My eyes widened in horror and Dawn must have caught on because she was laughing. “Did your mother say anything to you about it?”

“She just said her tummy was hurting and that she would be fine.”

Hmmm. Was there something she was keeping away from me. Yet again? Sometimes you gotta literally shake it out of one of the kids to know what was going on with Lili. Li was someone who kept things to herself until it was vital that she shared the information. Tonight we were gonna have to talk. Talk about everything.

~*10:30 p.m.*~

“I head you haven’t been feeling good.” I looked at Aaliyah who shrugged while looking down at the table, trying to avoid my eye contact. “Is there something that you would like to share with your loving husband?”

“Um....no.” Li looked up and sighed.

“I think so...Are you...” She looked up to look at me and she sighed, giving me my answer. “We just can’t seem to stay away from children.”

“You’re telling me.” Li looked up with a smile. “We have five kids already. I’m just spittin babies out. Well It’s not like I have no damn choice now. We have to suck it up and raise another child.”

“Well at least you aren’t expecting two.”

“Yeah I forgot about Beyonce for a second. Well that’s what you get for being obsessed with sex Mr. Timberlake.”

“Yeah I guess this is my fault.” I laughed and shook my head. “I think it’s time for a new nanny.”

“You read my mind. Starting tomorrow we’re going to start the look for a brand new nanny.”
