Chapter 12*~
I looked over at Aaliyah, completely
pissed off. “What in the fuck was going on in that little head of yours? Do you
understand that he could have had you arrested and then thrown in prison? Do
you understand that you totally did what I told you not to do and went behind
my back and tried to take things into your own hands? You could have been
killed.” I watched as she laughed and looked at her; angry. “What in the hell
is so funny about this?”
“Do you hear yourself?” She looked
at me. “You are pissed off at me because for once in my life with that man, I
stood up for what I believed and I took charge. I am not going to back down
like some fucking coward and let him intimidate me like he did for those three
years of hell that I called my life.” She laughed. “You just don’t know how it
is to be beat until your not only bleeding on the outside but also internally,
you don’t know how much I would love for him to feel that pain and my thought
was whatever this fucking ass hole got, was what he deserved, and you keep
going what if. The thing is I got what I want and now I’m happy. Happy as I can
be after realizing what hell I’ve been living in and not knowing it.”
I looked over at her. Still pissed.
I wanted to say something but then again this was the woman with the gun not
me, and lord only knows what she would do to me if I dared to even question
what she just said. I just shook my head. Paying attention to the road ahead. I
looked at her as her cell phone went off and watched a wide smile form on her
face. I could only imagine who she was talking to.
“You just never give up do you?” She
laughed looking down at her feet and then out the window. “I knew Matt would
tell you bitch, I just hope that you don’t push me towards that direction with
you.”
Karen. These people just didn’t know
when enough was enough. They would push your buttons knowing you wouldn’t do
anything. I looked over at Aaliyah. “Let me see the phone.” She handed it to
me, looking me in the eyes before turning away. “Karen...so what do you want?”
“Oh come on Justy, you should know
by now. The incident with Matt today should be enough to convince you that
she’s crazy. That you deserve better.” Wait a minute. Hold up. Was this bitch
trying to say that I was better off with her. Was she gonna sit straight up and
go. Um Justin, you need me, not her. What in the hell is wrong with these
people?! They just make you sick. Making you wanna strangle there asses until
they die. I looked at Aaliyah with the realization finally on my face. That’s
when I finally realized what she was telling me all this time. Matt for her was
like Karen was for me. They were both complete ass holes that wanted us back.
There was no way in hell we were going to let them hurt either of us and that’s
why Aaliyah did what she did. The fact that she let Matt live was extraordinary
to me. Why she let him live, I have no idea. That’s when I hung up the phone
and threw it out he window looking at Aaliyah who was laughing. “Fuck them,
it’s time to go.”
~*1 month Later*~
“Daddyyyyyyy.....” I looked up at
Dana who came running in the room a smile on her face. That’s when I knew
trouble awaited. “What baby girl?”
“I’m hungry....” She looked at me
and I looked back. Wanting to laugh so bad.
“Alright, go down to the kitchen and
I’ll meet you there in a second.”
“Ok,”
I looked over at Aaliyah who laid
there smiling. Drew and Alexandra sitting by her side playing with a few
blocks. “That’s your child.” She laughed and shrugged.
“If you say so, but she asked you to
make her something to eat. Not me.”
I looked at Aaliyah and stuck my
tongue out at her. Life had been pretty good the past month. We had decided to
move; far away from sunny California; all the way to Madrid. There wasn’t much
to worry about here. Things seemed so much better and we could finally move on
with our lives without the past coming back to bite us in the ass. Aaliyah
wanted to move the most even though she was so paranoid about being far away
from her baby sister so therefore Adriana lives about two streets down; she,
expecting her own child and getting married later that year. I stood up and
headed down the hall and down the long spiral stairs. I walked towards the
kitchen, stopping at the glass doors and opening them. “Alright is cereal good
with you?” I watched as she nodded and I gave her a thumbs up. Grabbing a bowl
and the cereal; pouring it and glancing over at the clock. “Is it really eight
thirty?” I watched as she nodded and bit my lip. “Then hurry up and eat so I
can get you and Alex to school on time today. She nodded and I walked out of
the kitchen hearing the phone ring. I ran down the hall and into the living
room, grabbing the phone. “Hello?”
“Buenos Dias.”
“You...” That’s when I knew it
that’s when it hit me.
“You can run Justin...but you can’t
hide...”
