“Half a month to go mom.” Aaliyah laughed and listened to her mother go on and on. “We decided to push the wedding back, so we don’t have a definite date yet.” She pushed her hair back and looked out the window where it was pouring down rain. “I have no idea actually.” She bit her lip and smiled. “Alright see ya later.” Aaliyah watched the door open and Justin walk in. “Tell everyone I said bye. All right. Buh bye.” Aaliyah hung up the phone and turned around to smile at Justin. “Hey,”

“Hey,” Justin grinned and kissed her softly and peered into her eyes. “What’s wrong? You look kind of down.”

“Nothing, really.” Aaliyah glanced away for a second and then looked at him. “You got a call.”

“From?” he watched her look completely change and knew exactly what was coming next.

“Britney. She wants you to call her back.” She shrugged. “So don’t forget to call her alright?” Aaliyah said through tears.

“Lili,” He sighed and ran his thumb down her cheeks and wiped the tears away. “I have no idea what she wants, really. I am as lost as you are Liyah, but I will find out.”

Aaliyah’s eyes lit up as she heard his voice darken and instantly knew what was about to happen. “Justin, it’s not that important really.”

“Yes it is. I don’t want her calling us and making you upset.”

“Look I’m fine alright. Just let it go. Maybe she didn’t want to cause any trouble anyway.” Aaliyah watched as Justin stared at her and started to smile. “What?”

“Look at you. You, trying to save Britney’s life.” He let out a soft laugh. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Look, I don’t think that she deserves the screaming and yelling. Seriously.”

“Since when do you feel like you should worry about others?”

“ARE YOU SERIOUS?” Aaliyah yelled and looked at him. “Are you calling me selfish?”

“Yes and yes sometimes you are quite selfish.” Justin said and looked at her.

“I can’t believe you sometimes.” She shook her head. “Since I’m so selfish why should I stop now?” Aaliyah rolled her eyes and grabbed her jacket and umbrella. “Look Jay I’m being SELFISH and completely OBNOXIOUS!” Aaliyah said and stepped out of the door. “I’m going to go out for awhile.”

“Where exactly are you gonna go?”

“You know, that’s for me to figure out alright?” She shot him a nasty look before leaving out into the rain. She always hated when he felt like he knew her. Like he knew what she was all about. If she was going to marry him, he was going to have to know everything about her first.

Allison Lancing

“He’s not being fair Alli.” Aaliyah said and looked up at the ceiling.

Allison Lancing looked at her best friend and smiled. “Oh honey, I don’t think that he really meant it. I mean he loves you, really. I really do hope though that you won’t let this get in the way of your happiness, because girl, you have yourself a wonderful man right there. Really besides, I don’t think these three are going to let you just leave.” Allison said and pointed at her stomach with a smile. “So are you ready for them?”

“Hell yeah, my feet are killing me and I swear these are my only kids.” Aaliyah laughed. “They’re putting me through too much pain as it is.”

“Three already, Three, man you have a handful. Well ya got yourself four if ya count the big kid.” Allison laughed and looked at the ceiling. “So do you two know when you’ll have the wedding?”

“Probably sometime next year. I mean with the kids due in about half a month I just can’t think about planning a wedding. Really, I just need some chilling time after the kids are born. Not that I’ll get it, but then again a girl can wish can’t she?” She smiled and looked over at Allison. “I feel like a Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Balloon.”

Allison looked at her and started to laugh hysterically at the last thing Aaliyah said and found herself rolling off the bed and onto the floor. “You are crazy.”

“Tell me something I don’t know.”

            “You’re crazy.”

“Wow Really?” Aaliyah smiled and looked at her. “You’re a big help Alli, all the time…all the time.”
