Chapter 1*~

Am I supposed to change? Are you supposed to change?

Who should be hurt? And who should be blamed?

Am I supposed to change? Are you supposed to change?

Who should be hurt? Who should be ashamed?

Am I supposed to change? Are you supposed to change?

Who should be hurt? Will we remain?

You need a resolution, I need a resolution,

We need a resolution, we have so much confusion.

Aaliyah was a beautiful woman with many dreams and ideas. She always had a bright smile on her face. She brought him a sense of happiness he hadn’t had in awhile, but when Christina came into his life he had to choose between two women. Maybe he was willing to let Aaliyah go but then he knew he would hate to see her with anyone else. She was an extremely talented, kind hearted, and a sexy young woman. With four tattoos and four piercing she just seemed like your average American girl. But she was different. She had so much that other women didn’t have. She didn’t have a problem with telling the truth but when he laid her down lightly and told her maybe it would be better to break up he could tell she was mad.

Her eyes are usually a dark brown color but her eyes always seem to change with her feelings. When she’s mad her eyes would turn a light brown and he knew she was upset then. That’s her way of telling you that she hated you and right then I had never felt so much hatred in one room. She looked at me with this you’ll be sorry look. The type of look when you break up with someone and you notice it’s stupid.

I want to know: Where were you last night?

I fell asleep on the couch, I thought we were going out

I want to know: Were your fingers broke?

If you had let me know, I wouldn't have put on my clothes

I want to know: Where'd you go instead?

Cause it was 4 in the morning, When you crept back in the bed

I want to know: What was in your head?

Or what was in my head? Am I supposed to change?

“Justin look at this,” Joey said and tapped Justin on the shoulder and pointed to the screen.

“Even though she says she has nothing against you Justin I think you better be careful of what you say and do.” JC said and looked at Justin.

“You all I think we should believe Lili, if she says that she isn’t after Justin then she isn’t. I mean she is such a sweet girl and I know that she never would want to intentionally hurt Justin….Ok maybe once or twice but I don’t think she would like come after you.” Lance said and looked up to see everyone staring at him, “What?”

“Nothing…” Chris said and rolled his eyes. “Well for once maybe Lance is right. I mean Lili has been our friend for awhile, I mean I really don’t think she would come after Justin… for awhile at least.”

“You all are just hoping she attacks me don’t you?” Justin said and looked at them.

“Well since your dating Christina, do you think I can have Lili’s number?” Lance said and smiled.

“Funny, you know you all this is really not funny.” Justin sighed, “I hated making this decision, you know that, but I love Christina also and I don’t think anything can change the way I feel about her.” He shrugged, “End of this discussion how about we go to the beach for a little while, not to many people will be there today so lets go.”

~* On the other side of town*~

Maybe I'm just wrong for feelin the way I do

Thoughts indecent, want to put those down to you

I know you have a girl, I don't want to tie

When you're free one night just make those hours mine

She didn’t completely hate him. One side of her hated him with every part of her body while the other still loved him. She knew it would be hard to even try to get back with him. That’s why she thought it might be easier to just forget him all together.

Love just ain't my thang, but half of you might be

Enough for two or more, no her to me and me

Fine like expensive wine, drunk off one glass of you

I think that might be too much, so weekends for me are cool

She wasn’t the same person she was ten years ago. She wasn’t as innocent and sweet as she was then. Now she was a young woman with so many ideas and perspectives on life. She was usually a very happy person. Someone who let off positive vibes all the time, but now she was just flat out depressed at times.

“Lili, Liyah… Aaliyah!” Aaliyah’s close friend Jamie yelled at her and watched her turn around. “Your still working, you seriously need a break, so that’s why I’ve come to give you one.” Jamie said and pulled her out the door. “Me and Karen and Valerie decided it would be best if you got out of this place for awhile.”
“I don’t need a break though.” She said and watched them smile. “What? What don’t I know now?” She asked and looked at them.

“Well you can’t stop us from making you leave here, because your mother told us to get you out of here, and don’t you even fix your mouth to say that your twenty-three and your mother can’t tell you what to do.” Valerie said and laughed, “We all know that you would never tell your mother or father that.”

“So we’re going to stop on the way and let you change but you have to go, and Karen suggested the beach so that’s where  we’re going.” Jamie said and looked at Aaliyah.

“Right and no complaining unless you want to answer to your mother got that.” Karen said and smiled.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Aaliyah said and laughed. “So let’s go then.”
