Rin and Jaken are racing when they come across Goshinki’s head. Sesshoumaru picks up the head and says that Inuyasha did it. He says he smells Tetsusaiga, and that the demon must have broke the sword. He can smell Inuyasha’s blood and says it smells like full-demon blood, such as his own and his father’s. Inuyasha is thinking about his transformation. He remembers how much pleaser he felt from killing Goshinki. Kagome gives him some fish she cooked. Myoga shows up, and the other make fun of him for hiding at Totosai’s. Inuyasha tells Myoga how his sword broke. Myoga tells him to go to Totosai and get his sword fixed. Later that night Myoga tells Kagome how Inuyasha’s sword keeps the demon side of him from being released, and now that the sword is broken he is no longer protected from his demon blood. Kagome worries about the demon inside of Inuyasha is taking him over. Meanwhile, Totosai is crying while he looks at Inuyasha’s sword and calls Inuyasha a simpleton. Totosai says he needs 3 days to fix the sword and he requires something from Inuyasha to do it. Toto pulls out a fang from Inuyasha’s mouth, and Inuyasha screams. Totosai tells him it will grow back soon. Inuyasha tells him better have the sword done in 3 days. Sesshoumaru brings the head of Goshinki to a man named Kijinbo and asks him to forge a sword out of his fang. Kijinbo says he can’t because the head is dead. Sesshoumaru uses his Tensaiga to bring it back to life, so that Kijinbo can use the fangs for the sword. Now, it’s the night of the new moon and Inuyasha has turned human. Miroku and Sango are amazed because they’ve never seen him in his human form before, although Miroku says he’s heard about it. Inuyasha asks how Miroku knew about him losing his powers, and he finds out that Shippo told him. Inuyasha is mad at Shippo for telling his secret, but Kagome says it just means he has more friends. Later, Kagome and Inuyasha are sitting alone. Kagome tells him not to wander too far because he doesn’t have his powers. She asks him if he still plans on becoming a full demon. She tells him that she was afraid that when he transformed he would forget about them. Inuyasha remembers how it felt to be transformed and he wonders if he would hurt his friends. Inuyasha tells her not to be stupid and that he would never forget about them. Sesshoumaru’s sword has been forged. Kijinbo’s eyes are glowing red and so is the sword as he takes it and slices Jaken in half. Sesshoumaru finds Jaken and he brings him back to life with his Tensaiga. Sesshoumaru tells Jaken to pull himself together quickly because they have to go. Jaken tells Sesshoumaru that he thinks Kijinbo may be possessed by the sword. Inuyasha is still awake, and Miroku is teasing him about being too scared to fall asleep on the night of the new moon. Sango senses an evil aura, and suddenly Kijinbo appears with the sword, Tokijin. He tells him that the sword has told him to kill Inuyasha. Kijinbo tells him that the sword was forged from Goshinki’s fangs. The sword is filled with Goshinki’s hatred of Inuyasha. Sango attacks but her weapon is deflected. Miroku attacks with spell scrolls which knock Kijinbo over. The gang is surprised that Miroku actually does have spiritual powers. Then the Tokijin begins to glow and rise up from the ground, and the gang realizes that the sword is the real enemy, not Kijinbo. The sun is beginning to rise now, and Inuyasha decides that he isn’t going to stand around so he’ll fight even though he’s in his human form. Just then Totosai shows up, with Inuyasha’s sword. Totosai tells everyone that Kijinbo used to be his apprentice, but he became and evil swordsmith. Shippo asks if the Tetsusaiga will be stronger now, and Totosai says perhaps a little. Inuyasha begins to fight with his sword, however it cannot transform because he’s still a human. Dawn comes, and Inuyasha transforms back into a half-demon. He transforms his sword and discovers that his sword has become really heavy. He asks Totosai what he did to it, and Totosai tells him it must be because of Inuyasha’s fang. Inuyasha can barely lift his sword as Kijinbo runs toward him to attack.
