Sharon Carroll
A native of Wexford, Sharon graduated in 2000 from the Crawford
College of Art and
Design in Cork and has already achieved recognition for her work,
winning the Student
Award from the Iontas 11th National Small Works Art Competition
at the Sligo Art
Gallery. My work is an ongoing exploration of the human
condition of existence and
mainly focuses on domestic situations. I like to use subtle signals
to direct the viewer to
read the image. My materials range from crayon and chalk to acrylic
and textiles, and I
also work over photographs, computer prints and other found material.
