"High Heat 2003" is one of the latest baseball titles to hit the gaming scene, and it has all the home-run excitement that you'd expect from the 3DO series.

But if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen or go seek professional help.

"Extended Play" did just that when we headed to the ol' ballpark and caught up with Anaheim Angels all-star second baseman David Eckstein. We got a few tips on the best way to knock them out of the park.

Pitching

"In ['High Heat 2003'] I like to go with a fastball as a way to start out," Eckstein says. "Later on it depends on who you have pitching for you. Go with the slider and then change up the pitchers."

Get hitters to chase

"When you have an 0-2 count or if they have runners in scoring position, you will want to throw a little outside and see if he chases to get a ground ball or just swings and misses," Eckstein says.

Stealing bases

"Stealing usually depends on if you have a fast runner on base," Eckstein says. "Then you definitely want to take off running -- but some other guys... no."

Play aggressive

"If [there are guys] on first and second, I usually bunt. It's hard to bunt with a man on first in the [video]game," Eckstein says. "Usually you want to swing for the home run. You usually play a lot more aggressively than in real life."

Final thoughts

"Always play with Anaheim," Eckstein says.
