BIOGRAPHY:
Failed Silence: a progressive metal musical act with choreographed dance moves that will leave you on the floor wanting more.

Failed Silence came together in 1999 after all three had worked on music projects together in previous years. Coming from a small rural Massachusetts town, there was nothing better for them to do than to play music, and so they did, and developed a sound that was unique to Failed Silence and stuck out like a sore thumb among the throngs of hardcore, emo, and nu-metal bands that thrive throughout Massachusetts.

To accompany this unique sound of quick, progressive metal, Failed Silence also established a stage presence that never failed to entertain any crowd, no matter what the age or what types of music the people were there to see. With lights, fog, costumes, and self-choreographed dance moves, Failed Silence was a reminder to people that, while a band can take their musical ability and songwriting seriously, they still have the ability to goof off and entertain rather than act ridiculously serious. It is this unique sound and stage presence that has won the band many local ‘Battle of the Bands’ events, and has even landed them shows with bands like Jurassic 5, Mindless Self Indulgence, Coretez, Atom and His Package and Apollo Sunshine.

After many, many hours of studio time with different engineers throughout the past, Failed Silence has gotten a true feeling of what works in the studio, and has released to date the best representation of their style of music, which is, for no apparent reason, labeled, ‘monkey-core’. Drawing influences from (but not stealing riffs from) bands like Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Tool, Mindless Self Indulgence, and many others from all genres, Failed Silence has evolved from an instrumental band with little energy into a technical oddity that explodes from the speakers. This evolution can be seen from the bands earliest demo from 1999 to the present demo of 2003. After auditioning about twenty vocalists, the band decided it would just be best to sing themselves, and this created just one more twist of a unique vocal style that separated Failed Silence that much further from everything else out there.
