For the Ryman League Division 1 club, homeless for the past 7 years, and currently ground sharing with Edgware F.C, won unanimous approval from Harrow Council for its plans to build a new stadium on land at Prince Edwards Playing Fields at Canons Park, in the borough of Harrow.
The site, of 44 acres, will be transformed by a new community sporting development which will include tennis courts, cricket squares, an all weather training facility and numerous football pitches - all of which will be open and accessible to all members of the local community.
The decision has to be rubber stamped by the Department of the Environment, but Wealdstone - whose 'Old Boys' include Stuart Pearce and Vinnie Jones - are already working on funding for the scheme, and are optimistic that within a year finance will be in place and building work set to begin.
