"Second mile Ministry"

Would you like to be a Soul Winner for Christ?
Sure you would. Here is only a token of examples
set forth in the scriptures to encourage
you to "step out, with Faith in The Almighty God".
Only God can give you the courage and the continuing desire
to be His servant.

Second mile workers, seem to be the happiest
and most fullfilled people I have ever met.
and the frustration is those who are unhappy can't
seem to figure out their remedy
is A new commitment to Christ.
Sometimes I feel like Elisha must have felt
when his servant looked around and could see the enemy
surrounding him. Elisha prayed,

"O,Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see,"
and when the servant looked again, he saw:
Chariots of fire, forming a protection
against the enemy.
The servant had learned to look at life
through spiritual eyes.

What must a person do to get his or her spiritual
eyes opened and to become a Mighty servant
of God? The most common barrier is,
that it is difficult to use spiritual eyes
to look at occupational responsibilities
"Im too busy at work," is the most common reason
I hear for refusing to step out.
I admit if a person looks at his or her job as the world
looks at it, there isn't enough time.

The LORD did the miracle of taking five loaves
and two fish and feeding 5000 people
to show us He is not limited in resources.
At a Bible discussion recently, someone brought
out the point, If Jesus wasn't concerned
with the lesson about numbers,
He would have said ,"He took some loaves
and some fish and fed some people."
But there is a "work miracle"
God does in which He takes the busiest people,
allows them to do tremendous occupational
work in the shortest amount of time,
then gives them the time left over
for eternal things. The key to success
is to be willing to work for the Lord.

The second barrier is that people see themselves
as lacking in ability or talent, But GOD
carefully gave us the lessons in the Bible
to get us to see we are not using our
ability and talent, but HIS.
MOSES said, "I'm too old and, I'm not good with words,"
But God used him to establish the people
out of whom the Messiah was born.
When the Angel tapped Gideon on the shoulder
to become a mighty warrior, He replied,
"Are you aware, my tribe is the least of the twelve,
That my family is the least in the tribe,
and I am the least in my family?

Yet GOD used him to destroy the Midianites
and establish the framework
for the coming Messiah.
The key again is willingness.
Will you start your second mile walk today?

Here's how it works. In your quite time,
Turn to Matthew 9:37-38. Read it out loud.

Picture a farmer with a field of ripe produce,
and nobody to pick it. Then picture yourself,
showing up at the field, no talent,
no ability, not much time, but saying,
"I am willing to work today".
Do you believe the farmer would turn you away?
Then raise your right hand and say,
"Lord, I want to volunteer today,
for whatever you need for me to do.
"I know I have a job,
and I have other work to do,
but I want to do your work, too".

You will see the miracle of work begin.
Pray that prayer each morning,

and you will see your life take on a new meaning.
