I am Amarissa, self stylized, Princess of Thieves. I am from Thardferr, a strange and exciting world. You may come for a visit, but I doubt you will have the nerve to stay...
I don't know when I was born, nor where. I grew up in the trade city of Riveringtown. I was found wandering the streets of the city when I was eight years old and was taken in by Prarok. Although some would say that he was a bad man, I thought him kindly and he taught me much. He taught me not only how to survive in a cruel world, but how to do what had to be done in order to do that surviving. That's where so many go wrong. They don't realize that sometimes you have to do things you don't like in order to live...and I live quite well.
I call myself Princess, as do others in my profession, because I'm good at what I do. I am the closest thing to royalty that MY world has. Not Thardferr, you understand, but the world of the shadows. I've done a little of everything. If you expect to be the best you have to be able to do anything, and to do it well takes practice. I can still pick a pocket before you even know I'm there. I can con a miser out of gold and have him thinking it was his idea all along. I can sneak into a house with all the occupants asleep, even taking their pillows, and still never a soul awakens. I can slit a fool from ear to ear and never bat an eyelash.
You may think me callous and insensitive, but maybe you're wrong. I have some scruples. I never take from those that cannot afford to be taken from. Well, that's only one, but if I think of another I'll tell you. I do what I have to do in order to survive. I live in the shadows in order to survive...I am the shadows...Elyos, he too lives in shadows, as does his soul.
Elyos is my partner. He's an elf that seems darker to me than any drow I've ever seen. He has this complex about being ugly. Oxymoron there -- an ugly elf. I think it has something to do with this scar he has, but he won't let anyone really see his face. I doubt he knows that I have...except I'm sneaky. At any rate, I could care less about his looks as long as he's quiet and can fight if need be. Which he can.
Our first adventure together was quite profitable as well as satisfying. We heard of a caravan moving out of some city in central Thardferr, I don't remember from where, but I'm sure Elyos does. There were a few that joined the caravan that really bothered us. They also happened to have gold and jewels along for the ride. We couldn't resist.
Elyos joined the group and I ran on ahead. While Elyos was taking it easy, I was busting my ass to find some mercs to hire. Finally, I found a group that would do what I wanted for the price I was willing to pay. I left them and went to search for Elyos. He wasn't hard to find...all the dust those animals were kicking up on the road. I informed him of the situation and "joined" the group as well. Little did I know that two former friends were with them...Flak Firepants (a goblin mage) and Dorc (the orc). This threatened to pose problems, because I really didn't want them killed.
Problem was solved in this manner. Before we reached the spot where the mercs were hidden we were attacked by goblins. Flak was outraged and died in a fight with his kin. I, myself, hid like any good thief and waited. Cassie, whom we wanted dead anyway was mortally wounded with an arrow in her side. Fang was eneffectual while wailing over Cassie and the "Hero" was just there.
I ran ahead to tell the mercs not to kill anyone wearing a green arm band (Elyos and Dorc) and to slaughter the rest. I stayed where I was and let them do thier job while I rested. I never saw the fight, but I do know that Fang and the "Hero" both died. Cassie, however, somehow managed to survive and is now some uppty mage.
That was our first adventure...but we've had many more. Our group now consists of myself, Elyos, Dorc the Orc, Tibor (a priest), Ishan Blackblade (blademaster), Yerki Opo (thief, chef, trader -- you name it) and Vincent D'Haven our bard. We are the Order of the Shadow. I will try to keep up to date on our weekly ventures into Thardferr and must do some backtracking again soon.

On this day -- we're still gods only know how far under the ground, but we've found a dwarven city or the backend of one. Our priest, Tibor, has lost his holy sword and we've all gone into the citadel to get it back. Elyos is still acting strange...I haven't figured that out yet.
At any rate, we've entered the guard post as sentrys were leaving and killed all in the post. As Tibor ran toward his sword (it was pulling him with the magic)-- the sentrys returned. We then ran into a room full of armed dwarves. That's where our adventures will pick up next week.
*Almost forgot -- Vincent told us tonight that he'a a lycanthrope*

Wasn't quite there myself on this date. I can, however, sum up what occured. Apparantly, as my companions and I were "caught" in this dwarven hall with at least a hundred armed dwarves eating supper -- Tibor managed to somehow get away and retrieve his sword. Why he came back, I'll never know. He did return to where we were. Dork and Vincent arrived (they had stayed back at the gate and were fighting for their lives there)and for some reason Dork grabbed Elyos to keep him from killing someone. Then a red mage appeared and took us all captive. Things truely are looking dismal for us at this moment. We are all in a cell, except for Yerki and Dork, at this time.

Again -- missed out. I have been informed, however, that we have finally gotten out of those god forsaken caverns! Praise be to...well, now that's my business isn't it? At any rate, Elyos and Tibor are helping some dwarves to track down a monster. The rest of us are headed to the tourney. My eyes gleam and my smile is wide. I am on a mission that will set my heart to singing! Oh, won't Elyos love it...and won't my god be proud!

The tourney has been cancelled thus leaving the group with no direction. We've stopped at many wayside taverns and the like. I've only been vaguely aware, however, as I have been with my new god. Yes, I have decided to serve Elenar. By the way, I believe I was made to perform certain services for money. My oh my, what a chivalrous group I am with. We'll discuss that another time. Also, Tibor has learned more of his sword. Now he has to perform great acts with it(whatever). Elyos is still acting strange, but ,I suppose, so am I. Until next time.
*Please be advised -- at this point I am unsure if I wish to develop this character further. Perhaps the Princess shall be put on a back burner for a later date. I honestly have become bored with her and am considering a new character. The Thardferr adventures will continue so please keep in touch!*
