This is the fireplace the way it was when we moved in : white faux-brick and white mantel. I had tried living it up with a firescreen but the fact that it was painted off-white, it clashed against the white of the faux-brick.

So, after painting the living room, it was time to paint that faux-brick to make it look like real brick (which is something I REALLY like in a home). Here is how it turned out (which is quite good in my opinion!)

I first painted the grout with grey paint. I then painted the bricks with terra-cotta paint. I aged the grout with little grey and ocre yellow paint and I aged the brick with light peach and light gray paint that I drybrushed over the first coat using a foam brush. It was really easy but time consuming.
