JOHN ARROLL born 4 Feb 1829, the son of Duncan ARROLL and Martha McKELLAR of Helensburgh Dumbartonshire Scotland.

John married 17/8/1854 to BARBARA JOHNSTON (e) in Barony Glasgow. Barbara was born circa 1833, the daughter of JAMES JOHNSTON a bricklayer's labourer, and MARION TUNRER.

John was a weaver when he married and a press printer when their daughter Marion was born in 1855, a carpet weaver when their son, James was born in 1858. In 1858 the family lived at 27 George Street Glasgow and in 1891 the family lived in a 2 room apartment at 28 Greenvale Street Glasgow. Barbara died 19 April at 28 Greenvale Street Glasgow of "Fatty degeneration of the heart" and Bronchitis.
