The Iznik Foundation has announced the First International Iznik / Nicaea Symposium to be held in Iznik, Turkey, between 1st and 4th November 2000.Papers on the history, art and archaeology of Iznik and the surrounding regions, from prehistoric times up to and including the Ottoman period, were given by a number of internationally distinguished authorities in the field. Several sessions had in addition been set aside for other potential contributions.
