handling your rabbit
Rabbits are easily frightened, but will quickly become tame and affectionate if you handle them often. It is vital to know how to pick them up correctly and also to be firm but gentle with them.
It is advisable not to let children pick the bunny up until it's used to being handled. They have a powerful kick and may sometimes bite.
Do not chase your bunny, bend down to his/her level and wait for them to come to you. Never pick your bunny up by the ears.
The best method is to grab your bunny by the scruff of the neck (sounds cruel but it doesn't hurt) and in one swift movement put the other arm underneath the bunnys' bottom to stop him from kicking.
I actually pick my bunny's up putting one hand under their forelegs and the other under their bottom. I find that they find it harder to wriggle away from you using this method, but ultimately it's what is what you and your bunny are comfortable with that's best.
