(Butch on stage talking to himself)
Butch: Let's see, I tried to call her at home...
She wasn't over at Sally's house...Maybe her Mom took her shopping....
She said she would be here hmmm...
( Liz calls out from off stage)
Liz: Butch... are you here... Butch!
Butch: I'm over here chick, over here.
(Liz enters stage)
Liz: Butchie, sorry I am late,
where are all your skate buds.
Butch: They left already, I told them
to go on without me. I wanted to wait for you.
Liz: So you waited for li’l ol’ me. (sheepishly)
Butch: Well I promised you I would take you.
Liz: I can tell you're a good friend.
You missed; "Awesome Skateboarding The Movie"
Just to wait for me. We could still catch the
last half... do you want to go?
Butch: No, We can see it next week, I am sure it will be held over...
It's Awesome, you know!
Liz: What about your skater friends,
did they say anything to you... Milton. (Laughs)
Butch: No, you didn't tell them did you?
Liz: What if I did?
Butch: That wouldn't be cool,
especially since you promised. Friends don't break promises.
Liz: (Still teasing him) Promises where made to be broken,
anyway we didn't shake on it.
Butch: When you promise you don't have
to shake on it, don't you remember the lessonfrom Church?
Liz: Milton... don't get so upset.
I know that King David kept his promises.
Saul didn't keep his, so God let him die.
Butch: That's absolutely right...
so stop calling me Milton, before somebody hears you!
Liz: OK, OK, I'll stop! (still laughing)
Butch: Where is Becky? That girl from school
with the crutches... I thought you were bringing her with us today.
Liz: I decided that I didn't want to bring her...
she looks funny, her feet, they are crooked. (Rudely)
I was embarrassed about bringing her to meet all your
cute skater friends.
Butch: Liz... You promised her!!!
She is supposed to be your friend. (scolding)
Liz: Nobody is perfect, I will make it up to her.
Butch: Didn't you learn the memory verse:
A man that hath friends must show himself friendly,
and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

You know King David brought Jonathan’s crippled son to Jerusalem and gave him Saul's
land. He promised then He kept his promise!
Liz: You are right Butch,
(about to cry) I, I... would you...
Butch: Yes, I'll go over to her house with you.
Liz: (happily) You will!
Butch you really are a good friend.
(Leaving stage)
Butch: Yeah, I know, because I follow the word of God!
Liz: Well... I'm learning!
