(Butch and liz enter stage talking)
Butch: So hey Liz, how have you been doing?
Liz: I guess I am Okay, It is nice of you to ask Butch.
How are you?
Butch: I am cool, everything is cool,
like ice, cool as ice.
Liz: You must have had a good vacation.
Butch: Yeah, it was alright, I stayed a Grannies house all week.
Liz: You had to stay at your grandmas all week you
poor boy. Did she make you wash behind your ears?
(laughing) Did you go to bed at 8:00, (laughing still)
(mimics Granny talk) “Did you floss your teeth Butchie;
Eat your vegetables Butch”.
Butch: She’s not that bad. She did make me wear
my helmet and kneepads when I was skateboarding... That was a bummer!
Liz: I am sure glad you are my friend,
some people would get mad if I joked about their Grandma.
Butch: I know you’re just joking girl.
I sometimes jive you too. How was your vacation
anyway chick? Have any fun?
Liz: Well I spent most of my time coloring
pictures for the coloring contest at the grocery store.
I kept coloring and coloring... ‘til I had one that was just perfect.
Butch: Hey, I colored one too. (excited)
Who won, I didn’t get back over there to see,
Did you? Who won that 25 dollars? Was it me? C’mon Liz who won?
Liz: Well, It wasn’t me, (sad) some
guy named Milton Mortimer Smith.I tried so hard. (crying) I didn’t even get
third place!
Butch: Are you sure it was Milton Mortimer
Smith?
Liz: Yes...
Butch: Farout!!! Man am I gonna have fun spending that 25 dollars!!!
(Liz interrupts)
Liz: You’re Milton Mortimer Smith?, How’d you...
(Butch interrupts)
Butch: My Granny made me use my real name...
(Liz interrupts)
Liz: I worked so hard... I hate you Butch!
(Liz starts leaving stage)
Butch: Liz wait!!!
(Liz comes back)
Liz: What Butch?
Butch: Think about today’s lesson; Jonathan knew that David would be king instead of him. Since he was David’s friend he helped hide David from King Saul.
Jonathan could have let his father, King Saul, kill David, and then he could have been King someday.
That is a friend indeed!
Liz: You’re right Butch... Just like the memory verse says;
A friend loves at all times... Proverbs 17:17
Even when he loses at a coloring contest.
Butch: Liz, You’re not gonna tell any of
my skate buds my real name are ya?
Liz: Well not if you share some of that contest money with me.
(Leaving stage)
Butch: That’s not nice Liz...
Liz: I was just Joking... but you could buy some chocolate ice cream
with some of it!
Butch: Yeah, let’s head for that
grocery store!!!
Liz: Okay, (laughing) Milton Mortimer...
Butch: Liz!!!
