Jesus Was Born On Christmas
I guess it was late in September,
the Christmas stuff hit the shelves.
They were filling the Wal-Mart that morning,
there was Rudolph and Santa and elves.
I spied two children a talkin'
one said, "Did you write him today?"
He said "Yeah, I wrote a letter to Santa
and I hope that he comes Christmas day!"
The oldest boy said "There's no Santa
and nobody's making a list.
They just want you to be good
and that santa stuff gives it a twist."
I felt like setting them straight then.
But that's something I couldn't do.
So I prayed they'd grow up right
and someday find out what's true.
Do you believe in Jesus
and that he died for our sins?
Yeah, Jesus was born on Christmas
and that's where the story begins.
Jesus is still right here with us.
Not Santa, not reindeer, not elves.
So when you see things at the Wal-Mart,
it's not what he wants on the shelves.
He wants a shelf full of peace and brotherly love,
somebody feeding the poor.
He doesn't want to see greedy Christians
who think that they've found Heavens door.
Yeah, Jesus was born on Christmas
and that's where the story begins.
He taught all his life, then when he died,
He washed away all of our sins.
So if you'll have Jesus beside you,
better yet, take him into your heart,
It'll get you the keys to The Kingdom
and He'll give your life a new start.
Do you believe in Jesus
and that he died for our sins?
