A Stones Throw Away

We see them everyday;
pass them by all the time.
Maybe drinking, maybe on drugs,
Maybe committing a crime.
Livin' in a house made of cardboard.
Talk to themselves all alone.
Holding a sign saying: "Will work for food",
Or just need a dime for the phone.

Casting a stone at the lowly.
The lost we pass by without thought.
Not sharing with one the gift of the Son,
Or telling them why we were bought.
If they could just touch his garment.
Reach out with your heart then and pray.
We're a stones throw away from the reason,
Walk over and tell them today.

Hanging around on the corner,
taunting small kids passing by.
An old man there in the park all alone,
So lonely, he just wants to die.
Gang kids sporting their Colors
Thinking the world doesn't care;
About what they're doing, how they should change.
We act like they're not even there.

She works on the street you have seen her.
"Scum of the earth" she's been called.
There is a way He can turn her away,
From the perverted ones she's involved.
If we don't try to help them,
Share with them what we've been told.
We're a stones throw away from the reason,
That Jesus was sent to be bold.
