Benefits
-Insurance: LCODFR pays the following percent of the cost of medical, vision, and dental insurances for all employees and their immediate families. (Excluding job related injuries of employees which are of course covered by LCODFR 100%)
Base: 25%
After 3 Years: 50%
After 5 Years: 75%
After 10 Years: 100%
-Pension: Pensions are paid by the city once a person retires. Personnel are eligible for retirement after 20 years of service. Pension is 46% of the employees salary at the time of his or her retirement. Retirement is mandatory after 30 years of service. If a person goes for the full 30 years of services and then retires, they receive a pension equal to 75% of that person's salary at the time of his or her retirement. Each year of service, from 20 years to 30 years, the persons pension increase by 3% until they reach 75%.
-Other Benefits:
A.) Line of Duty Death Benefits: The following benefits are awarded to the families of LCODFR personnel who are killed in the line of duty.
1. Employees full pension
2. Settlement- Family receives a one time payment of $300,000.
If employee has a kid then it is increased to $400,000. Each additional kid is a
$50,000 increase. This goes up to 5 kids. 3. Insurance- Family to receive
75% medical coverage of all medical expenses.
B.) Perks:
1. Each employee is allowed (a year):

1 Family Weekend
2. Each employee will be given:
During off-time:
Unlimited use of the department gym located at Fire Headquarters.
An all inclusive department wide weeks vacation. Decided by department each
year.
