My Grandmother
'Twas a morning that carried the softest of
breeze,
With the
brightest of sunlight shining down through
the trees,
The wind whispering so softly, humming sweet
lullaby
As if echoing thoughts of the times now gone
by.
A day of perfection full of beauty and grace
In great celebration of one leaving this
place.
Chosen was the Sabbath for Christ Jesus to
bless
And give peace to a soul that so needed
rest.
For during this lifetime, this soul had
worked hard,
Giving all that it had from within, from its
heart.
Many difficult days in its life it did live.
But equal the joy and the love it did give.
This soul 'twas so precious and so great was
its worth,
In those days that it shared, with us here
on earth.
The pain of its loss for those left behind
"Tis no greater heartache will one ever
find.
The ground up above her, we will cover with
flowers.
We'll visit her often and spend many hours.
The blooms will be watered by those tears in
our eyes,
With her sweet spirit watching from above in
the skies.
May the breeze continue in its lullaby of
song,
May it whisper to loved ones, "find peace
and be strong".
For we who so loved her, there will a day
come
We'll hear in that breeze our own lullaby
hummed.
Again seeing that soul from so much we
learned,
Our precious mom, sister, wife...a golden
soul named LaVerne.
This is dedicated in loving memory of my
grandmother named LaVerne...And to a
wonderful aunt whose words are so beautiful
and sweet...I love you Aunt Penny
