My Testimony

The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
It is written in Isaiah the prophet:
I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way --
a voice of one calling in the desert,
"Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for Him."
And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. And this was his message: "After me will come One more powerful than I, the thongs of Whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I baptize you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit." At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. As Jesus was coming up out of the water, He saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, Whom I love; with You I am well pleased."
Mark 1:1-11

I'm not really going to get into my past too much. For me it's starting to belong just there, and that’s where I would prefer it to keep it. I am here today because of Jesus, for whatever reason He has put me into Mary's, Brian's and Russ's lives--only He knows why.

Mary, Brian and I met on IRC, we chatted several times and became friends. One week-end they were coming to Brossard, to see another IRC friend of Mary's who lived 5 minutes from me. So we decided we would meet, and they and the boys would come for dinner. They both sensed that it was not going well with Peter, my commonlaw boyfriend of 8 years. They somehow got me to admit it, and I told them I needed to get away and do some thinking. The next thing I know they were inviting me into their home!!

I remember Mary saying to me, "Too cool! You can come to church with us." Well I didn't say anything to her, I waited until I talked to Brian and I said to him "I don't have to go to Church, do I?". He told me I didn't have to do anything I didn't want to do. Sunday rolled around I decided I was coming to check out Green Ridge Baptist Church in Lennoxville, Quebec. Wow, what a place it was!! Just so cool, friendly people, a band, an awesome pastor, lawn chairs, I was so overwhelmed, I just had to come back the following week. After that service the following week Mary and I were doing dishes, and I told her I wanted to give my life to Jesus Christ, she wanted me to do it right there, and I couldn't. I wanted to do it in the church with her and Russ. Well it just never seemed to happen. Russ went away for a week, and when he came back Mary was in the hospital.

Then one night Brian and I were visiting Mary and in comes Russ. As the visit went on Mary mentioned to Russ that I wanted to give my life to Jesus Christ, but that I had said it would have to wait until she got out. She explained to him what I had wanted to do. Russ seemed pleased. I looked at him and said "Let’s do it here!" There I was in Mary’s hospital room giving my life to Jesus! It just felt so right!

From that night on I have been such a different person. I feel different, I think different, and the most beautiful part is I have Jesus in my heart, and I'm proud to tell everyone, even though my family and old friends think I have lost my mind. That’s okay. I pray for all of them to be saved from the drug related lives they are living, in which I also use to live.

Thank you Jesus!! You are just so awesome!!!!!

JESUS LOVES ME*

Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!

Jesus loves me when I'm good,
When I do the things I should,
Jesus loves me when I'm bad,
But it makes Him very sad.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!

Jesus loves me! this I know,
As He loved so long ago,
Taking children on his knee,
Saying, "Let them come to me."

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!

Jesus loves me still today
Walking with me on my way,
Wanting as a friend to give
Light and love to all who live.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!
