Welcome to Gay Arkansas!!
It is my intention to create a line of communication with
others in the Gay and Lesbian community both here in Arkansas
as well as with others in "Cyber-Space"!
First a little about myself, I'm a 42 year old gay man
living in the City of North Little Rock.
That is across the winding Arkansas River from Little Rock,the capitol of this varied
and sometimes confusing state.
I say confusing because, at times this is a great place
to live and build a life, and then there are the
antiquated laws and some (I say this in a joking way...)
inbread mental barriers to deal with as far as the folks
native to this beautiful state.
I moved here 9 years ago to finish my studies at the University of Arkansas, and stayed!
I have a wonderful Lover with whom I share a house, two cats, a crazy dog, and a fish with.
We run our own home business as well as work part time in regular jobs.
One day we will be totally free of working for someone else and,
be totally on our own. That is our personal goals.
I used host a weekly radio show that was aired on a community radio station.
I was informed it had been cancelled because the show was not "productive" for the station
and had therefore been taken off the air. Again proof that being Gay has it's drawbacks.
I will continue to try and keep some form of communication open for gays and Lesbians here
in Arkansas by some means and, at this point...the net is the best source available
to us at this stage of the battle!! ;-)
As far as personal likes and dislikes...I offer this small list of things:
I like:
1) Gay and Lesbian art and poetry.
2) ALL kinds of music. (I prefer Dance/Alternative though.)
3) News shows like 20/20, Dateline, etc;
4) Working with Gay and Lesbian youth.
5) Dancing.
I dislike:
1) prejudice of any kind. (especially if it can lead to the harm or death of others.)
2) Smoking and drugs.
(I do admit I do have an occasional drink if I go out to a club or at a party, if you say alcohol is a drug.)
3) Those who think that the only way to get people
to like or pay attention to them is to lie or cheat others.
4) Cold weather!!!!!!
