Charles Posey Eubanks was born 4 Mar 1844 in Georgia to James and Frances (Massey) Eubanks. 1850 GA, Murray Co., living with parents; listed as Posey, age 9, male, born GA. 1860 AR, Greene Co., living with parents; listed as Charles P., age 19, male, born GA. Posey married first to Adaline Johnson on 12 Aug 1883, in Greene Co., AR. Posey married second, Margaret C(?) (maiden name unknown) who was born 1849 Georgia. They lived in Murray County, Georgia, where four of their first five children (that have been documented) were born: Margaret "Maggie", Ora B. born 1864, Frances B. "Fannie" born 1875, Georgia S. Gardner, Clerk and Ex-officio recorder While Posey moved with his parents to Greene County, Arkansas, he chose to move on to Lampasas County, Texas about 1883. Margaret apparently died soon after the family move to Lampasas. After her death, Martha Jane [Hall] Moore and husband James William Moore helped raise the children until Posey married again. Posey married Dora Ann (or Alice) Morrow 25 September 1892 Lampasas County. Ann was born December 1864 Texas. It is possibly she was first married to a Marrs. Posey and Ann had five children born in Lampasas County, Lonnie E. born January 1893, Carl Carlton born 26 January 1894, Clara Olcie born August 1896, Leedie LaVesta born December 1898, Thomas James born 1903, and L.D. C P Eubanks - Lampasas County lost an excellent citizen and his family a devoted husband and father Thursday morning when C P Eubanks died at his home in the Rock Church neighborhood. He was taken sick 3 weeks ago while visiting his son at Camp Travis and came home but gradually grew worse. Heart trouble was the cause of his death. Mr. Eubanks had made his home in this county for the past 35 years and was one of the most respected men of the county and has raised a large family of children who are following in his footsteps. He would have been 74 years of age the 4 of March. The deceased is survived by his widow and the following children: Mrs. W T Phelen, Lampasas, Mrs. Georgia Bell, Brownwood; Mrs. Mattie Moss, Abilene; Carl Eubanks, Camp Travis; Mrs. Mattie Pickett, Kempner; Mrs Jack Pickett, Takoma, Wash; and Tom and Dee Eubanks who make their home with their parents. Mr. Eubanks was a Confederate Veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:00. Interment will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery.
