SECOND GENERATION

John Burns Eubanks was born 19 August 1830 Hall County, Georgia to James and Frances (Massey)
Eubanks.

Note: Many years ago, my mom copied the family tree information from her
grandmother's Bible (Henrietta Edwards Eubanks). As you know Henrietta was
John B's daughter-in-law. Henrietta shows his full name as John Burns Eubanks.

sons, James "Jim" born January 1853, William Alfred "App" 14 Feb 1855, and John
Lemuel "Buck" born about 1856.

John Buck Eubanks died 1909 and is buried in Bronte, Coke County, Texas.

John B.'s granddaughter Averil, age 81, remembered her grandfather in a letter she wrote in
1986,"Grandpa Eubanks was born in 1831 and died in 1909. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the Civil
War, was Confederate. He was captured and spent most of the war in prison camp. I can remember
him one time, he came to see us. He had white hair, beard and blue eyes. He shot a squirrel
out of a big tree by the spring where we got water. It fell on a big rock and he helped me
up on it so could get the squirrel.

"And I remember when he died not long after. He was with Aunt Azzie, had gone out rabbit
hunting, had sat down and leaned back up against a tree. Uncle Alex, his half brother, went
to fix some fence(on)horseback. The horse came to the house. Aunt Jossie called Babe (Isaac),
and they found him.

sisters. Sallie and Alvin died young. Sallie married but don't know who. She didn't leave any
children. Have heard of what caused her death but not sure, think was child birth. Then her
man killed the doctor. Don't remember the name, Aunt Lena told me but didn't write it down.
He went to the pen. Don't remember anything about Uncle John. I saw Uncle Jim's wife and one girl.
Henryetta, wifes name. The girl married Jess Eubanks. Supposed to be no kin. All live near Tahoka
