AGENT “!”
Real Name: Unknown
Class: Altered human?
Occupation: Professional villain
Group Affiliation: New Brotherhood of Dada
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: Venice
First Appearance: Doom Patrol vol. 2 #49 (November, 1991)
Powers: Despite his outlandish appearance, no one was ever surprised by Agent “!,” which enabled him to easily blend in a crowd. Anyone accompanying Agent “!” could also pass unnoticed. The miniature airplane in his chest could be released at will; flying around and confusing people. Unfortunately, he never discovered this power until he was moments away from death.History: (Doom Patrol #49) - The Agent’s history and source of powers were never revealed. He was bothered by his mostly ineffectual powers, but convinced that once he found the “element of surprise” he would be a successful villain. His career highlight thus far was cursing at Superman, who never noticed him. The Agent was living in the subways of Venice when he started receiving psychic messages through his dreams. The mastermind Mr. Nobody was assembling a group of super-humans through these dream messages; they were instructed to use a magical poem to free him from the Painting That Ate Paris, where he was currently trapped. Agent “!” met up with Alias the Blur and Love Glove, and together they freed Mr. Nobody. This group became the second incarnation of the Brotherhood of Dada.
(Doom Patrol #50-52) - Agent “!” and the Brotherhood began causing havoc in Venice, alerting the Doom Patrol. The Brotherhood trounced their foes and set into motion a plan that would shape the world into what Mr. Nobody thought it should be. Pentagon agents were soon called in, and the Brotherhoods’ plans were brought to a screeching halt. Agent “!” was gunned down by soldiers. Before he died he utterly surprised the troops by launching his miniature airplane at them.
