History

(JSA #56, Hawkman IV #23) - Eclipso and the rest of Black Adam s team arrived in Adam s homeland of Kahndaq with the intention of reclaiming it for Adam. They freed the workers of a slave labor camp and slaughtered the soldiers guarding the camp. Brainwave told his teammates he d seen the most horrific memories in the minds of the soldiers, they committed unbelievable atrocities. Eclipso asked him to beam those memories into his mind, because the motivation of punishing such deserving sinners gave him a rush. They went to Kahndaq s capital of Shiruta and confronted dictator Asim Muhunnad. After Black Adam ordered Atom-Smasher to execute Muhunnad, Adam proclaimed himself ruler of Kahndaq.

(JSA #57, Hawkman IV #24, JSA #58)- Eclipso and his teammates made Muhunnad s palace their hq, and addressed the population of Kahndaq, who welcomed them as triumphant heroes. Eclipso spent his first night in the palace with Nemesis. The JSA came to Kahndaq to take Eclipso and their other former allies home, but Adam destroyed their plane, scattering the JSA across Kahndaq. Eclipso teamed with Nemesis and battled some of the JSAers, who were now considered invaders by the people of Kahndaq. During the fight he received scratches that broke the lines of his tattoos, allowing the true Eclipso full control over him. In Eclipso's thrall he killed Nemesis, but then committed suicide by leaping off a building before Eclipso could force him to kill more people he cared about.
