Powers: Amanda Waller was a skilled politician and tactician. She was proficient in hand-to-hand combat and the use of firearms.History: Waller was a self-made woman making waves in politics. While under the employ of Illinois Congressman Marvin Collins she discovered files on the secret government organization Task Force X, including its subdivisions Argent and the Suicide Squad. She lobbied to revive the Suicide Squad, employing superhumans from Belle Reve's prison population.
(Spectre III #31) - Father Craemer stood in front of a tribunal to determine if he'd be allowed to stay a priest. Amanda Waller, Ramban and Xanadu had gotten word of the tribunal, and arrived to speak on his behalf. Waller talked about him doing God's work with the worst of the worst in the Suicide Squad, and Ramban and Xanadu said he'd saved Earth from both Spectre and Azmodus. Craemer was flattered, but said the tribunal was ecclesial, not civil.
(Final Night #1) - Waller freed Dr. Polaris so he could help Earth's heroes defeat the Sun-Eater.
(Adventures of Superman #593) - Waller was with President Luthor when Superman confronted him in one of his bunkers and asked why Luthor sent the Suicide Squad after him. Luthor said they needed a field test and desperate measures were needed during the Imperiex War.
(Adventures of Superman #594) - Waller and President Luthor ordered Superman to go to the JLA Watchtower because the Suicide Squad had freed Doomsday, but Luthor had lost all contact with the team. On the Watchtower Superman found a decimated Suicide Squad and teamed with Doomsday, whose mind had been manipulated by Manchester Black, to destroy a number of Imperiex probes in space. Imperiex Prime disintegrated Doomsday and hit Superman with an energy blast.(Action Comics #781) - Waller and Luthor were in a White House bunker when Imperiex probes attacked the capital. The Probes in Washington were destroyed when Major Sam Lane sacrificed his life to detonate the nuclear engine of his tank.
(Superman II #173 (BTS)) - Waller was on the ground crew directing Sgt. Rock and the Blackhawks on their space mission to drop 30 hydrogen bombs to destroy the Imperiex probes.
(JLA / JSA: Virtue and Vice) - Waller was present when President Luthor announced martial law because of the havoc the Seven Deadly Sins were wrecking across America. Luthor was actually possessed by Despero, and the Sins were under the control of his ally Johnny Sorrow. Luthor was freed from Despero s influence by the JLA and JSA.
(JLA #84) - The Burning, who needed chaos and fear to reproduce, assaulted President Luthor with a wave of guilt, leaving him catatonic. Waller contacted the JLA, and Martian Manhunter was able to repair Luthor s mind.
(Superman / Batman #3, 4) - President Luthor blamed Superman for the kryptonite asteroid on a collision course with Earth and demanded his arrest. He did an interview with Lois Lane, with Amanda Waller in attendance. Afterwards Luthor took Waller to his bunker and showed her his new battlesuit and discussed his plan of repealing the 22nd Amendment and running for a third term in office. He told her there was a place for her in his future administration and planted a kiss on her, leaving Waller speechless.
(JSA #76) - Waller met with former JSAer Atom-Smasher in Belle Reve prison and told him they should have a chat.
(52 / WWIII Part One: A Call to Arms #1) - <Week 50, Day 1> Black Adam declared war on humanity after the death of his family, starting WWIII. Amanda Waller planned a reaction, and yelled at King Faraday.
(52 / WWIII Part Two: The Valiant #1) - <Week 50, Day 4> Amanda Waller hatched a new scheme and investigated the confidential files on Ben Turner.
(52 / WWIII Part Three: Hell Is For Heroes #1) - <Week 5, Day 5> Amanda Waller took the opportunity the chaos that WWIII provided to contact Ben Turner, telling him she was reforming the Suicide Squad to reclaim her former power within Checkmate, and to deal with situtions just like WWIII. He admired her guts for starting a secret organization within a secret organization, and she convinced him to join her team by revealing that Rick Flagg was alive.
(52 / WWIII Part Four: United We Stand #1) <Week 50, Day 7> Checkmate discussed a plan of action as Bialya's neighbors prepared to war over her remains.
