Powers: Amethyst was a powerful sorceress; she could fly, travel between Gemworld and Earth, create protective shields and fire bolts of mystical energy.

History: Amethyst was a native of Gemorld, born to Lord and Lady Amethyst. Lord Amethyst was possessed by Pantagones, a Lord of Order, when he fathered Amethyst, so she was born as a Lord of Order. The Lords of Chaos and their minion Dark Opal conquered Gemworld, and slew Pantagones and Lord and Lady Amethyst. The Amethyst family's servant Citrina sent the infant Amethyst to Earth, where she was adopted by Herb and Marion Winston. When she came of age she learned about her heritage and returned to Gemworld to overthrow Dark Opal.

Amethyst was blinded by shadow demons during the Crisis.

Amethyst continued her role as protector of Gemworld, defeating the Lords of Chaos Child and Mordru.
