PowersApollo was extremely long lived, and had godlike powers including the ability to summon lighting and increase his height and could travel through interstellar space. Like all members of his race Apollo needed love and worship to survive.

History(Who’s Who in Star Trek #1) - Apollo was from a race of interstellar travelers who arrived on Earth 5,000 years ago and were worshiped as gods by the ancient Greeks. The Greeks eventually turned away from worshiping divine beings, so Apollo and his fellow travelers, needing love and worship to sustain their existence, returned to the stars. Apollo settled on the planet Pollux Four, and when the planet was investigated by the USS Enterprise Apollo demanded they stay on Pollux and worship him. Anthropology officer Lt. Caroline Palamas was fascinated by Apollo because she had studied ancient Greece. Palamas fell in love with Apollo, but Captain Kirk, reminded her of her duty, and she ended up telling Apollo she was only interested in him from a scientific standpoint. Apollo was crushed, and allowed the humans who refused to worship him to return to the Enterprise.

Comments: Created by Gilbert Ralston & Gene L. Coon.

Apollo, along with the rest of the characters from DC Comics run on Star Trek, were not part of the mainstream DC Universe. To simplify matters, I refer to these characters as inhabiting Earth-Star Trek. Surely, somewhere out there in the DC multiverse, there's a Star Trek universe, or there would be if DC still had the rights to make comics about Star Trek.

Apollo received a profile in Who's Who in Star Trek #1, a summary of his television appearance.
