History: (DC Comics Presents #26) - Archon was a Green Lantern who had a run in with Hal Jordan on Altair-Four, and was hostile towards him afterwards. Archon was attacked by the shape shifting extraterrestrial N’Gon, who sought to duplicate the might of his power ring. Archon knew he was doomed, but refused to let N’Gon have the power ring, so he ordered his ring to destroy itself in the heart of an exploding star. N’Gon assumed his form to lure in GL Hal Jordan by sending out a distress call, and steal his ring, but he was defeated by Hal and Superman.
