Powers: Arkillo was a fierce and savage combatant and possessed superhuman strength as well as fangs and claws. His primary weapon was his power ring, which is virtually identical to the power rings used by the Green Lantern Corps, except that it only utilized the yellow range of the spectrum, tapping into the emotional energy of fear. Arkillo’s power ring was capable of doing almost anything he could imagine. Examples of its’ powers include flight, phasing, creating giant objects formed of energy, and force fields. Gleen’s power ring could also counter the abilities of any Green Lantern’s power ring.History: (Green Lantern / Sinestro Corps: Secret Files #1, Green Lantern IV #10) - Arkillo grew up in the harsh jungles of Coristeel, and used his savage strength to dominate weaker races, He was a fearsome barbarian, and during a raid in which he killed and cannibalized his enemies he was chosen to be a member of the Sinestro Corps because he could instill great fear.
(Green Lantern IV #15) - Sinestro enslaved the Weaponers and put them to work manufacturing rings and power batteries for his Sinestro Corps. When one Weaponer threatened revolt to his fellow Fabrikant he was approached by Sinestro’s taskmaster Arkillo. Arkillo told him that if he refused to work he’d be food, and bit off the Weaponer’s head. Arkillo sent out a number of rings to scan space sectors for those capable of instilling great fear so he’d have rookies to train.
(Green
Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1) - Sinestro gathered Arkillo and the Sinestro
Corps on Qward. Sinestro laid out their mission of using fear to make the chaos
of the universe bend to their will, and to replace it with law and order. Their
first step was to burn anyone thst would oppose their plan, so they had to
destroy the Green Lantern Corps. They brought Kyle Rayner to Qward and stripped
him of the Ion entity. Sinestro made Kyle feel fear, and infected him with the
Parallax entity, which he then presented to his guardian, the Anti-Monitor.
(Green Lantern IV #21) - Sinestro sent out Arkillo and a
number of his fellow corpsmen across the space sectors to pick off Green
Lanterns one by one.
(Green Lantern Corps II #15, 16) - The sentient planet Sinestro Corps soldier Ranx attacked Mogo, knowing the Corps would not long survive without Mogo to direct power rings to worthy recipients and to mentally train new recruits. The GLC rallied behind Mogo, but Arkillo beat them back with his soldiers, and engaged GLC drill sergeant Kilowog in battle, pleased to find a worthy adversary. Despite the GLC’s efforts Ranx ripped a hole in Mogo’s surface and sent in the Children of the White Lobe, the Sinestro Corps latest allies, so they could explode and destroy the power ring at Mogo’s core. Mogo centered his life energies around his core, creating an impenetrable field and giving the GLC enough time to disable the Children. Kilowog sent corpsmen Yat, Kol, Stel and Chthatis off to Ranx to destroy the planet’s brain. The Guardians announced to the Corps that lethal force could be used against the Sinestro Corps, and the Sinestro Corps suffered heavy losses both on Mogo and Ranx. Sodam Yat destroyed Ranx, and the Sinestro Corps fled from Mogo, knowing that he was unstoppable now that he was allowed to use his full power.
(Green Lantern Corps II #17) - The Sinestro Corps launched their assault on Earth, and Arkillo confronted Kilowog in San Diego, demanding a rematch and promising that his men would prevail because they weren’t squeamish about taking a life. Arkillo said he saw fear in Kilowog’s heart, fear of what he might become if he started taking lives without remorse. After Arkillo slaughtered several bystanders Kilowog crippled him, and ripped off his power ring, along with his ring finger.
