History: (Young All-Stars #1-3, 5, 6)-Axis Amerika was conceived of by Hitler as a group of supervillains representing the Axis powers. The team's purpose was to serve as a fascist counterpart to the All-Star Squadron and to run subversive missions in America. The initial team was Fledermaus, Gudra, Horned Owl, Sea Wolf, Ubermensch (representing Germany) and Usil (representing Italy), all trained in Germany. Ubermensch and Sea Wolf were given their powers by Nazi scientists. Tsunami was meant to be a representative of Japan, but she changed allegiances to the All-Star Squadron, and was replaced by Kamikaze. Axis Amerika's first mission was to demoralize America by assassinating superheroes. Gudra captured the soul of T.N.T., but this brought the team into conflict with the Young All-Stars. The ensuing battle led to the death of Fledermaus and the capture of Horned Owl, Sea Wolf and Usil.
