History:
(Hawk & Dove V #6) - Batman and Robin were on the trail of the Necromancer, a sorceress who was using Blockbuster to steal magic totems in hopes of creating a vortex of magic that would let her access different planes of reality. Hawk and Dove caught Blockbuster stealing the Amulet of Ra from the Smithsonian, and their fight with him led them all the way to Gotham City. They were met by Batman and Robin, who were cautious about strangers operating in Gotham City. Hawk put on his best tough guy attitude for Batman, who was unimpressed, and said that if Hawk and Dove wanted to help them on the case they’d remember that Gotham was his city and they’d play by his rules. They found Necromancer and Blockbuster in a warehouse down on the Gotham wharf, and by breaking Necromancer’s circle of totems they broke her control over Blockbuster. Blockbuster was in a rage but confused and easily put down by Batman and Hawk. Necromancer cursed them for ruining her plans, and escaped after throwing a smoke bomb. Batman told Hawk and Dove that they had great potential and hoped they lived long enough to realize it.
(Batman III #1) - Gordon summoned Batman to tell him about a raid on Fort Marshall in which three surface-to-air missiles were stolen. Batman was aware, even though Gordon thought only he had been informed by the Secretary of Defense, and he told Batman Kobra was behind it. Two missiles had been recovered from a Kobra safehouse, but one of there terrorists was running around Gotham with the last one. As they spoke the terrorist fired, hitting a commercial airplane, and Batman leapt into action. He coordinated with Alfred and Duke, learning that the plane was headed straight towards Kane Plaza. After calculating the trajectory he drove the Batmobile off Robinson Bridge, and hit the eject button. He landed on the plane, and with fuel boosters and his grappling hook he directed it towards the Gulf of Blackgate. Alfred told him the passengers would survive, but for him to pull off the landing he'd be exposed to the full brunt of the crash. Batman knew, and said he had messages for his family in case of such an emergency. He worried if his parents would be proud, and if this was indeed a good death, and Alfred assured him on both accounts. Moments before impact two superhuman figures stopped the impact. They introduced themselves as Gotham and Gotham Girl and said they were there to save the city.
Comments: Created by Bob Kane & Bill Finger.
Batman had a cameo in Starfire II #11.
