Powers: Bax could fly and used a spaceship that could shoot a digitizer beam and turn people and objects into energy impulses that he stored in a holding cube.History: (Action Comics #573) - Bax sought out con men on planets who would try to sell him their planet, then took them up on the offer, transformed the populace to energy he stored in a holding cube, and pout the planet up for sale to races whose own planets were uninhabitable. If any intergalactic court questioned the validity of the planetary deeds it would seem that Bax was the one who was taken advantage of. On Earth Bax bought the planet from J. Wilbur Wolfingham, turned the population to energy, and told Wolfingham he had one day to find a new home for them. Superman was away on a space excursion, but when he returned he teamed with Wolfingham to make Bax give back the deed. Bax brought by a prospective buyer to Earth and Superman pelted them with ice cream, a pepper storm and tires, and Wolfingham convinced them these were normal weather conditions on Earth. After the customer was driven off Wolfingham convinced Bax that Superman was a genie and Bax claimed possession of him. Returning to space Bax told Superman to guide him through meteors, but Superman did it in such a way as to make Bax fear for his life. Bax returned to Earth and told Wolfingham he'd give back the deed to Earth if only Wolfingham took Superman back as well.
