Powers: Like all members of his race Bovian was long-lived, had an incredibly slow metabolism that let him survive hundreds of years without a meal, had sharp vision that let him see across space sectors, and lived inside a shell for protection. His primary weapon was his power ring, which was virtually identical to the power rings used by the Green Lantern Corps, except that it only utilized the yellow range of the spectrum, tapping into the emotional energy of fear. Bedovian’s power ring was capable of doing almost anything he could imagine. Examples of its’ powers include flight, phasing, creating giant objects formed of energy, and force fields. Bedovian’s power ring could also counter the abilities of any Green Lantern’s power ring.

History: (Green Lantern / Sinestro Corps: Secret Files #1, Green Lantern IV #20) - Bedovian went six hundred years without a meal, and ended up hibernating inside his shell onan asteroid in Space Sector 3. A mining crew set up shop on the asteroid, and Bedovian emerged to devour their foreman. He reentered his shell and prepared for another long fast when a Sinestro Corps ring found him, choosing him because of his ability to instill great fear. His patience as a predator made him a valuable asset, and because he could see across space sectors Sinestro made him a sharpshooter.

(Green Lantern: Sinestro Corps Special #1) - Sinestro activated Bedovian as the Sinestro Corps sniper when he sent a group of his soldiers to attack Oa. Positioned space sectors away Bedovian killed many Green Lanterns, including Diamelon and Cundiff Cood, while his fellow Corps members broke Superboy Prime and Cyborg Superman out of the Oa sciencells. Bedovian was eventually sniped himself by Green Lantern John Stewart.
