History: Komand'r was born into the royal family of Tamaran, but she was despised by the populace because she was born on the day the Citdel invaded Tamaran. The public also thought of her as weak because she was born without the normal Tamaranean power of flight. She was denied her birthright as princess; this honor passed to her younger sister Koriand'r. Her father sent her to train with the Warlords of Okaara in hopes that she could one day free Tamaran from the Citadel's control. Komand'r left the Warlords and chose to fight alongside the Citadel. Komand'r negotiated a peace treaty between the Citadel and Tamaran, and one of the conditions was that Koriand'r be forced to leave Tamaran forever. Komand'r and Koriand'r were reunited when they were both held prisoner by the Psions. The Psions performed experiments on the sisters that gave them superpowers. Komand'r now called herself Blackfire

Blackfire freed Tamaran from the Citadel, and now rules Tamaran as queen.

(Omega Men #34) -

(New Teen Titans II #16-18) -

(New Teen Titans II #22, 23) -

(Final Night #1) - The Sun-Eater drained New Tamaran's sun, and a number of spaceship troops went to destroy it. An alien named Dusk landed on New Tamaran, and while Blackfire accused her of collaborating with the Sun-Eater Starfire didn't see her as a threat. Dusk'd seen the Sun-Eater snuff out the sun of countless planets, and she was there to warn the Tamaranians. Starfire helped Dusk get off-planet, leading Blackfire to label her a traitor. The Sun-Eater destroyed the Tamaraneans set against it, and after New Tamaran's sun was destroyed the planet exploded, killing every Tamaranean on the planet.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #16, 17) - Vril Dox teleported Rann to the former location of Tamaran in the Vegan system, determined to rebuild his L.E.G.I.O.N. there and clean up the system. Blackfire, whose powers had been restored after holding a group of Psions hostage, was commanding her Tamaraneans fleet when she heard the news, and felt it to be an affront to her people. She invaded Rann, and attacked Starfire, who was now a member of Vril's R.E.B.E.L.S. calling her a traitor to her own people. The invasion of Rann was halted by GLs Altin Admos and Gorius Karkum, and Blackfire wondered why the Corps was suddenly showing an interest in the Vegan system. Neither the Rannians nor the Tamaraneans appreciate the interference, and attacked the GLs. Adam Strange used a zeta-beam to teleport himself, the GLs and Blackfire into space. They said they could resolve their differences without outside help, and Blackfire agreed that she could talk to Adam if he was not directly working for Vril Dox. A Thanagarian warfleet interrupted their discussion. Vril Dox was aboard, having brokered a peace treaty between the Thanagarians and Rann. They no longer shared the same solar system, let alone the same planet, and those who blamed Rann for Thanagar's destruction were dead or deposed. They returned to Rann, and Vril offered the empty southern continent to Blackfire and her people as a new home. She admired the brilliant and ruthless egomaniac, seeing a lot of herself in him.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #23) - Vril, Blackfire, Sardath and the R.E.B.E.L.S. welcomed Honor Lantern John stewart to Rann, and after a public handshake and media coverage they went behind closed doors for negotiations. Stewart demanded that Vril allow the corps to do their jobs in the Vegan system, and after Vril orchestrated a terrorist attack by the Citadelians the GLC foiled them, forcing Vril to be on friendlier terms with the GLC, at least in public.

(R.E.B.E.L.S. #24, 26-28) - Vril had a diplomatic dinner with Blackfire, and she told him there was no need for his bodyguard Tribulus. Vril said Tribulus was like a child, and he felt like a bad parent when he went abroad without him. Blackfire had create a home identical to the royal palace she grew up in, and even terraformed the southern continent with native Tamaran flora and fauna. Vril and Blackfire toasted to their friendship, and agreed to meet again. Vril Dox was kidnapped by Starro the Conqueror, who made him into a mindlslave. Blackfire organized her Tamaranean military, saying she'd be quite cross if Dox came to harm. Blackfire Lyrl called the R.E.B.E.L.S. and said they were needed back on Rann to deal with the invasion of Starros, so Adam Strange used his personal zeta-beam to return himself, Captain Comet and Starfire. Starro, with Vril at his side, declared himself ruler of Rann, and told Blackfire to kneel before him. She said she knelt before no man, and engaged him in battle, soon aided by the returning R.E.B.E.L.S. Lyrl sent Tribulus against the Starros, and he freed mindslave after mindslave by roasting their starfish. Blackfire told Starfire that if they didn't make it she wanted her to know she never stopped hating her. Lyrl sent Tribulus against Starro, badly wounding his alien and freeing Vril. Realizing he was near defeat Starro prepared to order his remaining slaves on Rann to commit suicide. On the Psion homeworld the R.E.B.E.L.S. used Starro's transmatter portal, and called Dox, telling him to push Starro though. Back on the Psion homeworld Starro found himself face to face with Smite and Lobo. One week later Sardath, Blackfire and Vril signed a mutual defense pact. Blackfire told Vril not to get kidnapped again, because she didn't want people thinking her consort was weak. Ciji reported that Oa had gone black and Vril said it was a good thing the L.E.G.I.O.N. was back.
