BRIK

Real Name: Brik

Class: Extraterrestrial (Dryad) technology-user

Occupation: Green Lantern

Group Affiliation: Green Lantern Corps

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Space Sector 904

First Appearance: Green Lantern III #12 (May, 1991)

Powers: Like all Dryads Brik possessed superhuman strength, near-invulnerability and a dense body composed of organic rock. As a Green Lantern, Brik wielded a power ring capable of doing almost anything she could imagine as long as it was recharged by her emerald power battery once every 24 hours. Examples of its' powers include flight, phasing, creating giant objects formed of energy, and force fields.

History: Brik was recruited into the Green Lantern Corps by Hal Jordan, and initially harbored feelings for the Earthman.

(Green Lantern Corps II #14) - The Sinestro Corps took out a sector house in 2263, so Kilowog rallied Brik and the other Corps members on Oa, telling them they were going to take the fight to the Sinestro soldiers.

(Green Lantern Corps II #15, 16) - The sentient planet Sinestro Corps soldier Ranx attacked Mogo, knowing the Corps would not long survive without Mogo to direct power rings to worthy recipients and to mentally train new recruits. Killowog and the Lanterns under his command, including Brik arrived and rallied behind Mogo, but  Sinestro Corps drill sergeant Arkillo beat them back with his soldiers. Despite the GLC’s efforts Ranx ripped a hole in Mogo’s surface and sent in the Children of the White Lobe, the Sinestro Corps latest allies, so they could explode and destroy the power ring at Mogo’s core. Killowog sent corpsmen Yat, Kol, Stel and Chthatis off to Ranx to destroy the planet’s brain. Fearing the prophecy of the Blackest Night the Guardians rewrote the Book of Oa, allowing lethal force against the Sinestro Corps. Brik and the GLC were able to slaughter the Children of the White Lobe, and the Sinestro Corps suffered heavy losses. Sodam Yat destroyed Ranx, ending the threat to Mogo, and the Sinestro Corps turned their attention to Earth.

(Green Lantern IV #24) - Brik and the GLC arrived on Earth to fend off the Sinestro Corps invasion of the planet. Dozens of Sinestro Corps soldiers were slaughtered.

(Green Lantern IV #25) - The Sinestro Corps War raged on Earth, and while Brik, the GLC and an army of superheroes battled the Corps the Anti-Monitor prepared to unleash an anti-matter wave to destroy Earth. With Earth’s destruction, the entire 52 would fall, and he would once again rule all that was. The GLC ruptured the heart of Anti-Monitor’s Warworld, the Sinestro Corps central power battery, and created a shield around Warworld and the Monitor. The ensuing blast nearly destroyed the Anti-Monitor, and he was finished off by Superman-Prime, who betrayed him for having destroyed his home, Earth-Prime. GL Hal Jordan defeated Sinestro in personal combat, and the Sinestro Corps, lacking any leadership, fled Earth. The heroes rejoiced and began rebuilding the damage the Sinestro Corps did.
