HistoryThe Boy Commandos were orphans who served as mascots for the American Army, until they were stationed in Britain during WWII and taken under the guardianship of Captain Rip Hunter. Hunter made them a fighting force equal to any, and they performed special missions until the surrender of Japan in 1945. At wars end they formed a commando patrol on call to take care of trouble anywhere in the world. 

The Commandos eventually disbanded, and Rip was promoted to general.
