History: (Firestorm II #4, 5) - Casey was a met human obsessed with Firestorm. Her obsession reached it’s peak when Firestorm (a new hero in that role, unbeknownst to her) appeared in her hometown of Detroit. Her roommate Marla disobeyed her by entering her room and talking badly of Firestorm, so Casey brutally murdered her. She wanted to attract Firestorm’s attention, so she caused a fatal car accident, and when he responded to the emergency she let him know she was his biggest fan. He realized she was behind the accident, and was horrified. She tried to absorb his energy as a way of connecting with him, but his powers overloaded her, and as he flew around trying to shake her, after turning to stone she fell into a lake. She soon recovered, but found her powers wildly out of control. Firestorm found her, and was glad he hadn’t killed her, but she was in a homicidal mood. She still loved Firestorm, but also wanted him dead. During their fight Firestorm created an explosion that left her at death’s door. He called in the JLA, and they brought her to S.T.A.R. Labs for treatment. Firestorm checked in on her, but when Dr. Tyler told him that her DNA had been recently altered he didn’t volunteer the information that he was responsible.
