Class: Magical creature
Occupation: Crimeboss
Group Affiliation: None
Known Relatives: None
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: Metropolis
First Appearance: Superman: Man of Steel #1 (July, 1991)
Powers: Cerberus was superhumanly strong and invulnerable. The gigantic maw in his belly could spew noxious fumes. He had hundreds of preserved human heads in glass cases, and by attaching a head to his body, that head was allowed to direct Cerberus' actions. Cerberus possessed body armor that could shoot strength sapping coils from its gauntlet, and used high-powered firearms.
History: (Superman: The Man of Steel #1) - Cerberus set off bombs in the Metropolis airport and an industrial park. Superman minimalised casualties, so Cerberus sent a cyborg servant after him, but the cyborg was dispatched. Cerberus blamed Superman for protecting LexCorp's interests just as he blamed everyone that worked for LexCorp and kept it running.
(Superman: The Man of Steel #3 (BTS)) - Once Cerberus freed Tattamalia from LexCorp he threatened them and promised to destroy the nation if they didn't pay him exhorbitant amounts for his services. Superman stopped a bombing by Tattamalian rebels, and learned about ther situation. He stopped Cerberus' attacks against Tattamalia with the help of Mayan god Quetzalcoatl, who had been awakened during the War of the Gods. The nation was devastated, but still stood.
(Superman: The Man of Steel #7, 8) - Cerberus powered the cybernetic assassins Jolt and Brickhouse. He assigned them to trail and kidnap Lois Lane. She would be used as bait to lure in Superman; Cerberus wanted the hero dead for his past interference in his plans. They kidnapped Lois, but were defeated by Superman. Cerberus decided to learn from the failure and strike at Superman at a later time.
(Superman: The Man of Steel #13) - Cerberus had Metallo inform Superman of his underground lair to force a confrontation. Cerberus and Superman battled, with one of Cerberus' reckless heads shattering many of his brethren in the fight. When the battle looked lost Cerberus launched his hq, which was actually a giant missile, and aimed it at Metropolis. Superman disabled its guidance systems and it crashed back into the mountain from which it came. There was no sign of Cerberus after the explosion, but at least one of his heads survived.
