(Action Comics I #16) - The mummy threatened Clip and Blake with a curse, but Clip said he didn't believe in such nonsense and shot it, revealing it to be a robot set up to guard the treasure room. The heroes admired the treasures of Cheops, but were captured by a group of Egyptians, led by a man claiming to be Pharaoh Cheops. Cheops had them tie up Clip and Blake, and told them to fetch the plane he'd acquired and load up the treasure. "Cheops" revealed himself as Sergeant Beatty, who wanted to get to the treasure before the heroes. He'd disguised himself to win the Egyptian's loyalty, and told them they would use the treasure to fight the government he worked for, but in reality he planned on keeping the riches for himself. Clip freed himself, and after revealing Beatty as a phony to the Egyptians, tossed him into the murderous mob. In the confusion they grabbed the treasure, hopped in Beatty's plane, and after gunning down a few pursuing Egyptians, took off. Clip said he should pay Blake instead of the other way around for treating him to such an adventure.

In the pre-Crisis on Infinite Earths DCU Clip lived on Earth-2.
