He would give his fortune to charity, and to all his heirs and to his faithful Ward a piece of gold with the inscription “United We Stand - Divided We Fall.” The gold pieces could be fitted together to make a map of a gold mine he found in his younger days, and if they didn’t figure it out in thirty days a sealed envelope would reveal the location of the gold. Ward didn’t want to share the goldmine with the rest of the family when Harley died, and planned on eliminating all the Stormes. “Clubfoot” Beggs thought Harley cheated him out of his share of the gold mine, and held a grudge, so Ward planned on pinning the murders on him. He arranged fr a meeting with Beggs, and then chained him up in the Storme manor’s cellar. He took the identity of Clubfoot, and very publicly murdered Harley Storme. After reading the will to the family he eliminated them one by one as Clubfoot until he was captured by Batman and Robin.
Due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Clubfoot's existence was erased from DC continuity.
